My Parents

My father, Sanat Kumar Dhua, is by profession a Chemical Engineer. But he is the sort of person who is good at anything he does. His interests include photography (right upto development of the snaps!), sketching, gardening and even cooking. Surprised ? In fact he taught my mother all the cooking she knows. My father is a DIY (Do It Yourself) fan. He himself likes to fix anything that goes bad, and, might I add, he is pretty good at it.

My mother, Bijoya Dhua, is a Master Of Arts (Bengali Literature). She is a linguist in her own right. She has at one time or the other learnt Bengali, Hindi, English, Pali, Prakit, Sanskrit and Marathi although I don't think she is fluent in anything but the first three. Two things about my mother I have to say. One - she is a perfectionist. Second - she is a perfectly magnificent cook. I mentioned before that my dad taught her to cook, but she is the one who has mastered the art of cooking.
